NSF（National Sanitation Foundation），成立于1944年。多年来，不仅在管理体系和产品认证方面声名，而且在公共健康、安全和环境保护等一些专业领域，独立起草或参与制定出多项被广泛采用的产品标准以及认证方案。美国国家认可委员会（ANAB），根据美国标准，授权实施认证，并认可所有 NSF 的认证方案；
荷兰鉴定委员会（RvA），根据欧洲标准，授权实施认证，并认可所有 NSF 的认证方案；
加拿大标准委员会（SCC），授权实施认证，认可 NSF 的测试实验室和认证方案。
NSF 总部设在密西根州安娜堡市，依托美国的密西根大学，与美国汽车工业行动小组（AIAG）、IATF 美国分支机构（IAOB）毗邻；拥有多个独立实验室，可进行物理性能和功能测试，化学分析，毒理学分析以及微生物试验；此外，NSF 还拥有一批专业技术人员，包括工程师、化学家、毒理学家、卫生保健专家和计算机专家，具有相关的经验和专业背景。
1996年，世界卫生组织（WHO） NSF International 为用水安全与处理合作中心以及食品安全、室内环境健康合作中心。这种信任和赞誉是对 NSF 专业能力和技术服务的肯定。NSF 标志正在赢得越来越多的消费者、经销商、制造商和政府监管机构的信赖，成为质量可靠的标志，每年数以百万计的各种标有 NSF 标志的产品流向世界各地，被消费者放心使用。
